Lot 105A Lot 105A A fine and most unusual 19th C. pair of half scale, working copies of 17th C.. Dutch wheel lock pistols in figured walnut, the ivory butts beautifully carved as helmeted soldiers, both with an inlaid ivory hare and other ivory fittings and with silver ferrules, the flint wheel winds up and springs back to produce a spark, they are said to have been made by a Bath silversmith's apprentice in the early 1800s, excellent quality. Lot 412 Lot 412 A very rare early English MONKS Patent adjustable smoother 6 1/2" x 2" the handle forms part of the frog assembly which in turn holds the orig. cutter marked Jan'y 16-84. Very few of these planes have come to light, having the earliest type of adjustment mechanism. G+ £1150 / $1886
Lot 417 Lot 417 A very rare d/t steel mitre plane by ROBERT TOWELL London 10" x 2 1/2" with rosewood infill and scrolled wedge behind cupids bow iron bridge, this plane has a circular front and toe and is the first we have seen, by Towell, with this design. G+ £550 / $902

Lot 768 Lot 768 A very rare Improved adjustable plumb bob by T.F. WIESENER. The internal sprung ratchet mechanism, which slides out of the side of the body, automatically grips and rewinds the string after use and is marked Wind Up. Wiesener was a manufacturer of fine scientific instruments in Sidney Australia in the late 19th C., in lined oak box with trade label. G++ £500 / $820
