We hold six antique tool auctions each year. Many items from these auctions are exported world-wide.
Two International Auctions: Every tool is illustrated in the catalogue, many in colour. Through these auctions, each year we sell approx. 3500 lots of fine quality or rare items.
Four General Auctions: These consist of both user tools and collectable early tools. The better tools in these auctions are illustrated in the catalogue and advice is given as to which items would or would not be suitable for absentee bidding.
Each auction starts with a view the evening before with further viewing time on the morning of sale which gives
those who wish to attend ample time to examine and handle the tools on offer.
International auctions usually contain around 1800 lots and these are sold at a rate exceeding 250 lots an hour - which can come as a surprise to some used to alternative styles of auctioneering. The advice is - make up your mind before the sale starts what you would like bid for and what you are prepared to pay. And don't be talking to fellow collectors when your lot comes up!
In addition to the sale, during the viewing period, a dealer sale takes place in the hall where often bargains can be found.
We welcome absentee bidding and all catalogues contain full absentee bidding instructions and notes for absentee bidders.
After each auction we pack and dispatch purchases made by absentee bidders by suitable methods in accordance with their instructions.
